Emily and James

Emily and James celebrated their wedding with this enormous 4 tier oatmeal spice cake with cream cheese filling, covered in fondant icing. Her colors were light yellow and red, and the cake fit right in. This cake weighed over 50 lbs. and couldn't be missed. James especially loved it, so I was happy.

Joanna and John

This weekend I had the chance to do a cake for my sweet friend Joanna and her husband John's wedding. The ceremony and reception were both held at a lavender field in Valley Center, so they decided on a cake that would go with the simple and natural surroundings. The cake was 3 tiers, each consisting of a layer of fresh strawberry and another of banana cream, and iced with a smooth vanilla buttercream. Topped off with fresh strawberries and handcrafted sheep, made by both Joanna and John themselves! It all turned out great and I am so happy for the two of them.

BANANAS!

I never used to like bananas, but they do taste good in a cake. This is what I do when I don't have the energy for something grand... although my sister Diane really makes it look fancy with her photographs. Check out her work at www.dianejonesphotography.com. Thanks Diane!

So, I had the opportunity to do this wedding cake for my sister-in-law's sister. She is very classy and wanted something simple. The design on the cake was my own interpretation of the logo on her invitations. Two of the layers were white cake with lemon filling and the other two were a moist carrot cake with a cream cheese filling. They were happy...
